Pharmabotix Secures Wireless Environmental Monitoring for Glove-less Isolators
A major technical milestone for sterile filling lines: Pharmabotix has officially been granted European Patent EP 4 577 635 B1. This patent protects our wireless receiving device for nutrient medium carriers (Petri dishes) utilized inside high-purity pharmaceutical environments.
The SettleShell Architecture
The SettleShell is a passive air sampler engineered specifically for isolator integration. The patented system delivers precise microbial air monitoring—even inside glove-less isolators or complex, restricted machine configurations. By decoupling plate loading from active exposure, it systematically eliminates the risk of growth media contamination during the H2O2 (VHP) decontamination cycle.
Key Engineering Breakthroughs
Operators transfer the entire device into the hermetically sealed isolator space while it is fully closed. Once inside the cleanroom envelope, the mechanical system operates completely autonomously:
- Eliminating Glove-Port Vulnerabilities: Active environmental monitoring requires zero manual glove interventions and bypasses the need for complex, high-maintenance multi-axis robotic arms to handle the plates.
- Advanced Mechanical Locking: Internal kinematics mechanically secure, unlock, and lift standard commercial bayonet and threaded settle plates entirely inside the sealed housing.
- Aerodynamic Geometry: An adjustable motorized hinge allows the cover to swing up to 180°. This ensures uninterrupted laminar airflow sweep across the active agar surface, avoiding turbulence zones.
- Cleanroom-Compliant Design: The wireless architecture runs on internal battery cells charged via induction pads, eliminating particle-emitting physical power plugs from the sterile core.
Driving Down Operational Risk
This patent solidifies our engineering focus on high-purity automation. We integrate this standardized technology directly into legacy standard machinery and next-generation glove-less filling lines to sharply reduce validation overhead and lower mechanical risk profiles.
